Facility Use

The Heckscher Museum of Art is an educational institution cooperatively managed by a private, non-profit, educational corporation in partnership with the Town of Huntington, which owns the Museum facility and the surrounding park. The Museum's mission is to "serve the people of the Town of Huntington and surrounding communities.  Through exhibitions of its permanent and loan collections of art and related museum programs, it seeks to provide inspiring and transformative educational experiences to encourage a broader understanding of our past and present and enrich the quality of life of the individuals its serves."

Use of the Museum is a benefit of August Heckscher Society membership and Corporate Partnership. It is the policy of The Heckscher Museum of Art to make its facilities available to outside organizations for purposes in keeping with the Museum's mission in order to introduce the Museum to new audiences and to serve Museum constituents and the community. Such usage by non-profit and for-profit organizations is allowed under certain conditions, rules, and procedures.

The Museum is not available to individuals for private social functions; for religious, political, or commercial events; or for any other purpose that, in the Museum's judgment, would be detrimental to the Museum's status as a non-partisan, non-profit, educational agency.

Scheduling of any event is dependent upon the exhibition schedule, availability of the Museum galleries, and the event framework. A Facility Use Application and Hold Harmless would need to be completed and Certificate of Insurance provided in order to schedule an event.
