The Heckscher Museum of Art is debuting the Museum Palette Café, beginning August 2, a new outdoor space for visitors to enjoy tasty bites and a beautiful view while visiting the museum. The Ribbon Cutting and Opening takes place on August 2 at 12 pm, featuring live music and art activities for families from 12 to 2 pm.
The Palette Café includes seating for up to thirty-six people on the Museum’s terrace and a rotating roster of local food trucks providing diverse delicacies to guests each Friday between 12 and 5 pm, August 2 through September 27. Seating on the terrace will be accessible year-round and includes wheelchair accessible/ADA approved tables.
The new initiative is thanks to a $100,000 grant through the Suffolk County JumpStart program. The rotating selection of local food trucks, showcasing a diverse range of cuisines curated by Black, Indigenous, and female chef owners of color.
With free Museum admission for all thanks to a Bank of America grant, the addition of the new outdoor space gives visitors a richer, extended Museum experience.
